Downloadable Excel Style Budget Spreadsheet

Below is a viewable example of a Budget I originally made in 2007 for my girlfriend and I. When I first set about setting myself up with an organized budget I looked all over the internet for other excel examples of budgets and found some to my liking but nothing with the complexity that I was shooting for. I knew I didn't want Quickbooks or something over the top to waste my time. I wanted a streamlined budget system that was simple and tidy to allow me to view my future costs ahead of time to help project costs and teach myself how to be more efficient with my money. I first set out looking for something with recurring monthly budgets to punch in that could be assumed on a monthly basis. I kept running into excel styled budget systems that were just way more simple than the "simple" I was looking for so I decided I might as well just make it myself.

This spreadsheet I wrote continuously keeps your current budget updated based on the sum of your expected monthly earnings minus your expected costs as well as additionally incurred costs throughout the month. On the bottom of the 3rd tab you'll see an up to date available value to "be put into savings"(currently 75% available earnings after expenses) as well as what I had deemed as "freedom cash" which still seems fairly appropriate(currently 25% earnings after expenses).

One, or two especially, should find it relatively easy to use the current spreadsheet I wrote effectively for themselves. Depending on your familiarity with excel style spreadsheet systems you should be able to easily implement this system yourself to your own liking in a particular way that best suits you. However if you like what you see, but you're having some confusion and you need something specific find me by contacting me from the contact form or just leave a comment and hopefully someone will respond with some help.

To save go to File >> Export in the menu below and export the file to .xls or the filetype of your choice.
Note: I highly reccommend trying out the Google Docs system. You can use it for everything from spreadsheets, word documents, drawings, task management, calendar, etc. It's totally free, and best of all it expands based on user input at an incredibly competative rate. It is thanks to Google that you can see this excel styled spreadsheet document right inside this webpage and these types of link sharing features are available to everyone.
